On the Evening of Saturday 13th October 2018 the Members Gala Dinner took place in The Valley of Golf in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella. The whole occasion was a great honour for everybody at Real Club de Golf Las Brisas and recognition of the considerable journey of 50 years.
The Gala took place at the Club and began at 6pm on Saturday evening by a welcome from the President at the entrance of the club were the Members could enjoy a welcome cocktail that consisted in oysters, canapés, champagne, some AIX Rosè offered by Cees Weima and some Prosecco wine offered by Astoria, Members enjoyed the music of an harpist and had a chance to have a picture taken on the stage with the photocall behind.
The Master of Ceremonies guided the guests into the Gala Marquee for dinner at 8pm were he invited Members and Guest to watch a short film of the history of Las Brisas (click here to see). Carl E. Stålberg (President), welcomed over 270 Members and Guests saying “Without history and the experience from longstanding Members is difficult to go forward to develop the Club. We have a fantastic club and fantastic premises, though we also have one hidden asset, that we don’t speak about much, Our Staff.“
He also praised the efforts of Members like Ulf Bexelius for starting the process of renovation of the Course, Carlos Jiménez, former President, for getting the projects approved trough decision making processes in AGM’s and EGM’s, Terry Daniells for managing the Masterplan as President of the Greens Committee and Leopold Brees, as Treasurer, by managing the financing of the full renovation, the he received from Pablo Mansilla, President of the Andalusian Federation on behalf of the Spanish Federation and award for Real Club de Golf Las Brisas 50th Anniversary.
Gala dinner was served and after another short clip (click here to see) was shown before the Toast to the King Felipe was made, before the Gala drew a close some good dancing took place on a spectacular dance floor and incredible fireworks were to be seen from the marquee. A night that will always be remembered.
