La Reserva Club is arguably the finest test of golf in the Sotogrande area and regarded as a must-play for any golfer visiting the area.

Opened in 2003, the contemporary, 18-hole, 7,400 yard course was designed by Cabell B. Robinson and immediately became a firm favourite of golfers worldwide.

The fairways are wide and sweeping, leading to large greens with gentle but challenging undulations. Water features on seven of the holes and provides subtle pressure from tee to green, most notably on the 244-yard par-3 sixth.

The front-nine presents its own challenges, particularly on the deceptively short 159-yard 7th that plays from an elevated tee to a tricky and shallow putting surface.

Having been carved into the hillside, the club commands a high, bird’s nest location over what is known as Sotogrande “Alto” (“Heights”), offering stunning views of both the Mediterranean Sea, Rock of Gibraltar and mountains of La Gran Reserva and Sierra Almenara.

It is not only golf on offer at La Reserva Club. The 1,154-acre area of La Reserva, at the highest point of Sotogrande, is the next chapter to unfold in the story of this illustrious destination. La Reserva Club will evolve to be one of the best private clubs in southern Europe, to include an extensive spa for holistic wellbeing, lagoons for swimming and water sports, beach clubs and dining to add to the already well-established facilities. Here too, new clay tennis courts opened last year, and new pádel courts will open soon.

With access to La Reserva Club, a new residential community is underway: private neighbourhoods of super-contemporary villas. One such community will sit at the very peak of La Reserva: seven villas designed by seven of the world’s best architects from Brazil to Norway, fitting seamlessly within new parkland designed by the highly–awarded Provence-based Jean Mus & Compagnie.

The region has a rich heritage and varied terrain which makes it the ideal destination for golfers and non-golfers alike. This Easter, La Reserva Club is offering a full timetable of activities to guests which includes sailing, horse-riding, yoga classes, a children’s camp and a bakery workshop.

If that isn’t enough, all who visit will soon be able to enjoy being cared for by guest relations personnel who will be there to make sure that each and every guest’s visit to the club is as enjoyable as possible.

Visitors and members can also take advantage of the newly refurbished clubhouse and L’Olive restaurant. Having just released a new menu, L’Olive offers delicious, seasonal specialities year round and invites visitors to enjoy themed nights, Sunday roasts and brunch during their time at La Reserva Club.

A “Play and Dine” offer is available to golfers throughout 2017, providing players with the chance to enjoy a round at La Reserva Club from 1pm, then finish their day with a pleasant evening in the restaurant L’Olive. Prices start at just €185 per person with green fee, buggy hire, range balls and dinner included.
