“Greenlife is a showcase nine-hole course on the Costa del Sol”
Enelis Martín Vivaldi, the young manager of Greenlife Golf, is proud that this nine-hole par-three course is a standard-bearer on the Costa del Sol.
“We have a showcase nine-hole layout, thanks to the special features of the course, its location and its maintenance. All the holes are mediumsized, from 100 metres up to almost 170 metres, very technical and challenging.”
–In saying technical, do you actually mean complicated?
–Yes, to a certain extent. It implies a level of difficulty because, even though they are par-threes, or easier holes, the fairways here are not simple at all. They are generally narrow, with plentiful water and out of bounds.
–Is it an attractive course for players of all types?
–Certainly. It is not a long course, so it is ideal for beginners, but it also suits those with a higher level of ability due to the features I mentioned before. The greens are expansive, with uncomplicated approaches.
–The urbanisation doesn’t intrude on with the course…
–No, not at all. You can only see houses on the first and second, but they don’t affect play in any way; and on the rest of the course you hardly notice the urbanisation. The fairways wind through a completely natural setting.
–Perhaps the image that most defines the course is the large lake in front of the clubhouse, which also happens to be one of the most modern and functional on the Costa del Sol…
–In addition to its aesthetic appeal, this lake mainly adds difficulty to the second hole, as it is just in front of the green. - Your clubhouse is home to El Lago restaurant, one of the few in Marbella with a Michelin star…
–We obtained the star a while ago and have managed to keep it. That means we have to work hard every day to remain on the crest of the gastronomic wave.
This year we have included some new initiatives to attract lovers of fine dining even more. Our clients can enter the kitchen and prepare their own dinner alongside our chef, Diego del Rio. This is a new formula which is proving to be quite successful and is bringing haute cuisine closer to those who want to become more familiar with it.
