One five-star hotel on the Costa del Sol is offering something a little different this summer for passionate foodies. Kempinski Hotel Bahia Estepona will be presenting a second “Ronqueo del Atún” event on 19 August, a traditional Spanish spectacle where chefs prepare a whole tuna for cooking, showcasing the almost choreographed art of slicing and filleting the fish, followed by a master-class in the show kitchen then a tasting of different cuts: Maki, sushi rolls and sashimi, tuna tartar with kimchi and soy, ventresca or belly tuna with soy sauce, and tuna stew in Marmitako

Kempinski’s sommelier will also be pairing wines with each course, showcasing local wines and sherries that complement the flavours. The “Ronqueo” is accompanied by live music, at the hotel’s beachfront restaurant La Cabaña del Mar, and costs €82 (plus IVA/VAT) per person. Reservations are essential.
