Former Spanish monarch Juan Carlos de Borbón made his first appearance at the final of the annual Gold Cup international event at Santa María Polo Club, presenting the trophy to the winning Dubai team. The father of the current King Felipe was accompanied by other aristocratic guests, celebrities and local authorities including San Roque mayor Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix for the grand finale of a summer of top polo at the Sotogrande club – culminating in one of the sport’s premier tournaments, the Cartier Gold Cup.
