Located in the spectacular Villa Padierna Golf Resort’s clubhouse, Restaurante D’Canter is an establishment that maintains the extremely high standards of this prestigious complex. 

The clubhouse is situated next to the first tee at Flamingos Golf, an attractive building designed in a Tuscany style, very much in keeping with the Villa Padierna Palace hotel, which is part of the same complex… featuring a luxury décor, baroque touches and vibrant colours that bring back memories of the classic style of England’s grand mansions.     

Clearly, enjoying a couple of beers or lunching in this superb resort before or after a round of golf is an exceptional experience.

Few club restaurants on the Costa del Sol can claim to have a terrace like D’Canter’s, with views over the sea, golf and much of the coast, as well as offering first-class cuisine.

At the helm of the restaurant is Nilesh Patel, a successful businessman who was born in Gambia and later lived in London, where he created half a dozen businesses in the hospitality sector. Twelve years ago he settled in Marbella and set up an import company for international culinary products not available in Spain: special kinds of pastas, spices and exotic aromatic herbs… the clientele grew quickly and now it is another one of his highly successful enterprises.

Focusing on Restaurante D’Canter, he explains that it offers international cuisine. “There are Asian dishes, Indian, Mexican, Italian and of course Spanish food, fish baked in salt, even tapas… and all with one common factor: products of the highest quality.”

The restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and it also specialises in events of all kinds, both business-orientated and family (weddings, baptisms, communions…), with capacity for up to 140 guests.

“Golfers,” says Patel, “will discover everything they want here, from breakfast – which could be international, English, Spanish or French – to lunch, with a great variety of dishes, and dinner – featuring various different menus. For special events, we offer different formats, from cocktail receptions with canapés to four-course menus.

While the whole restaurant features a tasteful décor, the Members Room is especially refined and classic, highlighted by an elegant ambience. “It’s an exceptional place,” notes Patel, “hugely impressive, which we can occasionally use for top-level events, provided it is made available by the members.”
