Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a true source of pride for the entire team at Mijas Golf International and we’d like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor,” said Lorenzo Pérez Cortes, managing director at Mijas Golf Club. “There is no greater seal of approval than being recognised by one’s customers. THE GECKO TOUR, AT MIJAS GOLF

The Gecko Tour, a winter circuit played on the Costa del Sol, will hold one of its legs at Mijas Golf during the next season (20015-16), The event will be held from 14 to 16 December, a three-day tournament played at the two Mijas Golf courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos. It will be the last event of the first part of the Gecko Tour: i.e. a potentially decisive leg for the eventual final result.

Mijas Golf is making its debut on the Gecko schedule, a significant initiative that the Costa del Sol club is looking forward to with maximum anticipation and enthusiasm. “It represents a promotional impact at a national level,” says manager Lorenzo Pérez Cortés. “Mijas Golf, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2016, is very well known around Europe, especially in such countries as England, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, etc. All those countries have been providing Mijas Golf with clients for the past four decades. However, at a national Spanish level golf was barely played two decades ago, even though it is much more popular these days. So it is extremely important for us to become better known among the Spanish public, who can follow the circuit on TV and through other national promotional media.”
