The Turkish Airlines Open might have been hit by some high-profile player withdrawals this week but the first of the three European Tour Race to Dubai finals series events still has a couple of tricks up its sleeve to entice spectators.

On the 16th tee, players will hit their drives from the glass-covered roof of one of the Regnum Carya Golf and Spa Resort’s villas – over a swimming pool below.

"The original 16th hole was altered during the construction of the villas and the new tee on the roof is pretty much where the old tee used to be,” said tournament director Miguel Vidaor. "The raised tee really enhances the hole, gives the players a great view, brings the bunkers into play and looks great on TV. We were able to get real grass on the roof and the tee is in good shape. It takes four men to lift a hand mower up the stairs to the tee!"
