The first edition of the Mijas Sun & Golf Circuit<\/strong> has had a luxurious culmination with the dispute of the final at Los Lagos de Mijas Golf<\/strong> and a gala dinner at the adjacent splendid 5-star hotel La Zambra<\/strong>. The spectacular course designed by Robert Trent Jones<\/strong> was the luxurious setting for the final, in which the eight prizes of vouchers to play for a year in the six courses that have integrated this first edition of the Mijas Sun & Golf Circuit were elucidated: Chaparral, Miraflores, Cerrado del \u00c1guila, La Noria, La Cala Europa <\/strong>and Los Lagos de Mijas Golf.<\/strong> The prizes went to the first three classified in the first and second categories, plus the scratch winner and the winner of the ladies category. The Circuit has been sponsored by the Mijas Town Hall<\/strong>, in an initiative of the Mijas<\/strong> Golf Courses Association<\/strong>. The competition at Los Lagos brought together the 45 finalists of the Circuit, that is, nine players for each of the five qualifying rounds. The participants in the final were fortunate enough to play on the emblematic Costa del Sol course just before the summer maintenance work began on the course, which will force Los Lagos to close for a few days. <\/p>\n

A few hours after the end of the competition, a magnificent gala dinner was held at the Hotel La Zambra, spectacular ‘heir’ of the former emblematic Hotel Byblos. The event brought together a hundred people in one of the large terraces of the resort overlooking the Los Olivos course, one of the two 18-hole courses of Mijas Golf, also designed by Robert Trent Jones. <\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that the tournament registered a hole in one and it was also the first hole in one achieved by In\u00e9s Hermano Tsao<\/strong>, a regular player at Mijas Golf.<\/p>\n

The splendid gala dinner, which was preceded by a cocktail and attended by the finalists with companions, was attended by the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata<\/strong>, and the councilman delegate of Tourism, Francisco Jerez<\/strong>, as well as representatives of courses participating in the Circuit, as the directors of Mijas Golf and Chaparral, Lorenzo P\u00e9rez<\/strong> and Domingo Gavira<\/strong>, respectively, and Silvia Ortega<\/strong>, of La Cala Resort. <\/p>\n

The aforementioned people took the floor to show their satisfaction for the development and impact of this inaugural edition of the Mijas Sun & Golf Circuit and bet on its continuity and growth in future editions.<\/p>\n
