Raúl Quirós and Jordi García Pinto were less fortunate, losing their chances in the final holes. Jordi García del Moral was fifth with a final round of -3 for a total of -17. The winner, Englishman David Dixon, won with -21. The final day was more exciting for Adrián Otaegui (23rd, par for -9) and, above all, Agustín Domingo (20th, -5 for -10), who knew he had to take a risk and did so: two eagles crowned his performance. Things were worse for Raúl Quirós (41st, par for -5) and Jordi García Pinto (41st, +5 for -5).

The former needed a round of -2 to have a chance, while the latter experienced his worst day in the event. The five Spanish players who had made the cut on the fourth day -Adrián Otaegui, Jordi García del Moral, Jordi García Pinto, Agustín Domingo and Raúl Quirós- maintained their real chances of reaching the top 30 with only 18 holes left to the end of the School. Jordi García del Moral and Jordi García Pinto were the big winners of the fifth day thanks to cards of 68 strokes (-4) for totals of -14 and -10, respectively.

With these records, both took an important step forward, which in the case of the Catalan did not materialize.

Five Spaniards made the cut

Adrián Otaegui, Jordi García del Moral, Jordi García Pinto, Agustín Domingo and Raúl Quirós passed the cut made at the end of the fourth day, which ended with the options of Alfredo García-Heredia, Pedro Oriol, Álvaro Velasco and Manuel Quirós. A total of 70 players passed the cut. With a round of 66 strokes (-6), Adrián Otaegui climbed to sixth place (272), from where he started with a good cushion for the last two rounds. Jordi García del Moral (274) was also in a card position. In addition to the aforementioned Spaniards, out of the cut were players who know what it is to win on the European Tour – the Argentine Ariel Cañete (one win), the Swede Jarmo Sandelin (5) or the Englishman Nick Dougherty (3) – which illustrates the toughness of this School Final. The third day of the school saw Jordi García del Moral (-4 for -11 overall) and Agustín Domingo (-3 for -7) climb up the rankings.
