The La Ca\u00f1ada Golf Club hosted this Saturday, July 16, the III El Faro Information Tournament, with the participation of 105 players. On a splendid sunny day, with a gentle breeze from the east wind, the players teed off at 9.00 a.m. under the stableford competition mode. <\/p>\n

The game ended around 2:00 p.m. and after lunch for all the players in the restaurant of the La Ca\u00f1ada Club House, prizes were awarded to the first, second and third classified players in the First, Second and Third categories; in addition, a total of 23 gifts were raffled among the players, such as televisions, wine coolers, cameras, golf clubs, computers and coffee makers, among others.<\/p>\n

In 1st category, the winner was Felipe Ag\u00fcera, from Club La Ca\u00f1ada, with 46 points; followed by Jos\u00e9 Royo, with 43 points; and Francisco Mateo, with 41 points.<\/p>\n

In 2nd category, the winner was Henk Duivenbode, also from Club La Ca\u00f1ada, with 40 points; followed by Mar\u00eda Caridad Cuevas, with 39 points; and Pedro Lechuga, with 38 points.<\/p>\n

And in 3rd category, the winner of the day was Luis Collado, also from Club La Ca\u00f1ada, with 39 points; second was Luis Herrera, with 37 points; and third, Heidi Keinath, with 37 points.<\/p>\n

The prize for the closest ball on hole 2 went to Rafael Rodr\u00edguez Lizaur; and the prize for the closest ball on hole 17 went to Antonio Vega Ram\u00edrez, who got the shot with an 8-iron.<\/p>\n

The vice-president of Club La Ca\u00f1ada, Jos\u00e9 Chapaza, presided over the awards ceremony, together with the commercial director of Publicaciones del Sur, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Piosa; the director of La Ca\u00f1ada, Jos\u00e9 Alberto Andrades; and Jos\u00e9 L\u00f3pez Moncayo as president of the Club’s Competition Committee. Chapaza thanked Publicaciones del Sur for sponsoring the tournament once again this year, while Piosa pointed out that the tournament will continue to be held for many, many years to come. <\/p>\n
