{"id":20592,"date":"2013-06-13T08:01:03","date_gmt":"2013-06-13T08:01:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/andaluciagolf.com\/seven-spaniards-fight-for-the-british-ladies-amateur-title\/"},"modified":"2013-06-13T08:01:03","modified_gmt":"2013-06-13T08:01:03","slug":"seven-spaniards-fight-for-the-british-ladies-amateur-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andaluciagolf.com\/en\/seven-spaniards-fight-for-the-british-ladies-amateur-title\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven Spaniards fight for the British Ladies Amateur title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-2914\" src=\"https:\/\/andaluciagolf.holaincompany.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/harang-lee.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"float: left;margin-right:10px;\" width=\"450\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/andaluciagolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/harang-lee.jpg 450w, https:\/\/andaluciagolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/harang-lee-300x219.jpg 300w, https:\/\/andaluciagolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/harang-lee-110x80.jpg 110w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/>Seven Spanish players have reached the play-offs for the title in the British Ladies Amateur held at Machynys Peninsula Golf &amp; Country Club in Wales, one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments held in Europe.  <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">Harang Lee from Cantabria, Nuria Iturrios and Luna Sobr\u00f3n from the Balearic Islands, Noem\u00ed Jim\u00e9nez from Malaga, Natalia Escuriola from Castell\u00f3n, Silvia Ba\u00f1\u00f3n from Alicante and Marta Sanz from Madrid have qualified among the first 64 at the end of the first two days of competition, which has given them access to the qualifying round for the title after passing the cut established at 153 strokes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">Clara Baena, Roc\u00edo S\u00e1nchez, Andrea Vilarasau, Teresa Caballer and Mar\u00eda Palacios, who completed the Spanish representation in this competition, were excluded from the fight for the title.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">Australia&#8217;s Su-Hyun Oh and Denmark&#8217;s Nanna Madsen, tied for first place with 141 strokes, are the top seeds in this new and decisive phase of the British Ladies Amateur, where there is also a large group of Spanish golfers led by Cantabria&#8217;s Harang Lee, the most inspired in the first phase by accumulating 146 strokes through two cards of 73 strokes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">It is a curious circumstance that, in the first elimination round for the title, there are four clashes between Spanish and Swedish players, a country with which there has been an intense rivalry in major international tournaments in recent years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">The British Ladies Amateur is one of the most prestigious international women&#8217;s tournaments, which also brings back great memories for Spanish golf.
