Luke Donald believes the great memories he has of Wentworth can help him win his third consecutive BMW PGA.<\/p>\n
Donald, who won it in 2011 and 2012, is aiming to equal the record of three consecutive victories set by Colin Montgomerie, but also recognizes that now is not the time to think about breaking records.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to look at it as one more opportunity to go out and win a tournament and not put pressure on myself thinking about other things, although I recognize that I would love to follow in Monty\u2019s footsteps.<\/p>\n
Donald believes that his recent successes on the West Course may be due in part to the latest remodeling of the course that has made it more technical and more demanding.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince the changes were made, this course seems tailor-made for my game. I have felt very comfortable playing here and I hope it will be the same this year. It has become a strategy course. Since Ernie redid the greens it forces us to hit more precise irons to very specific areas. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe deep bunkers don\u2019t worry me too much because I\u2019m pretty good in sand. Here the important thing is to get the strategy of each shot right, a bit like in The Players, where I\u2019m pretty good on sand. you don\u2019t automatically drive, but you play a lot of irons and a lot of woods off the tee. Hitting is not the most important thing, and that works in my favor\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAlthough lately my problem has been precision shots. I\u2019m working a lot on distances of less than 90 meters and I\u2019m starting to see some results.
