The NH Collection Open that will take place from April 3 to 6 at La Reserva de Sotogrande Golf Club will have an excellent representation of winners of the European Tour. Among the players competing next week are 44 Tour winners with a total of 89 titles and three Ryder Cups. <\/span><\/p>\n

La Reserva de Sotogrande is preparing to receive in a few days a large group of players who have to their credit with important international triumphs. They stand out, by number of victories, Niclas Fasth, Simon Dyson and Thomas Levet with six titles each in the European Tour to which must be added three world champions, Marcel Siem, Bradley Dredge and Marc Warren, and three of the Ryder Cup, Levet (2004), Fasth (2002) and Phillip Price (2002). Some of them keep the best memory of our country, where they managed to win, as is the case of <\/span>Thomas Levet<\/span> (Open de Andaluc\u00eda 2008 and Open de Espa\u00f1a 2009); <\/span>Peter Lawrie<\/span> (Open de Espa\u00f1a 2008); <\/span>Niclas Fasth<\/span> (Open de Espa\u00f1a and Mallorca Classic 2006), <\/span>Michael Jonzon<\/span> (Castell\u00f3 Masters 2009) or <\/span>Lee Slattery<\/span> (Madrid Masters 2011).<\/span> <\/p>\n

The NH Collection Open will also count with the participation of several players who have stood out this year and are in a great state of play such as <\/span>Alejandro Ca\u00f1izares<\/span>winner of the Hasan II Trophy, or the English player <\/span>David Horsey<\/span>who has managed to finish in the top ten in his last three appearances. He was third in the Africa Open, tenth in the Joburg Open and eighth in the Hasan II Trophy, tied with his compatriot <\/span>Tom Lewis<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lewis<\/span> has been delighted to return to Sotogrande where he hopes to do well: “There are a lot of good courses in that area and I know La Reserva because I played there when I was an amateur. I really like it, it’s a course that suits me very well and if I continue to play like I did in Morocco, I’m going to be up there.”<\/span><\/p>\n

A few months before winning his first professional title, the Masters of Portugal 2011, Tom Lewis grabbed all the media attention after signing in the first round the lowest round of an amateur in the history of the British Open -65 strokes- with which he led the provisional classification in the Royal St. George’s. Curiously, he played alongside Tom Watson, his father’s idol, who named him Tom for that reason. <\/span><\/p>\n

Carlos del Moral<\/span>fourth place in the Tshwane Open where <\/span>Chris Wood<\/span> was sixth and <\/span>Simon Dyson<\/span> tenth; <\/span>Oliver Fisher<\/span>who contested a playoff at the Africa Open last February; <\/span>Robert Rock<\/span>fifth in Dubai; <\/span>Bernd Wiesberger<\/span>, <\/span>ninth; Damien McGrane, ninth in the Africa Open or Jake Roos, winner of the first Challenge tournament of the season, the Kenya Open, are other players to watch closely next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with them, complete the list of foreign winners of the European Tour that will be at La Reserva de Sotogrande, <\/span>Felipe Aguilar, Rhys Davies, Johan Edfords, Richard Finch, Alastair Forsyth, Mark Foster, Tano Goya, Mathias Gr\u00f6nberg, Anders Hansen, Gregory Havret, Jeppe Huldhal, Scott Jamieson, Simon Khan, Maarten Lafeber, Shane Lowry, Mikael Lundberg, James Morrison, John Parry, Richie Ramsay, Ricardo Santos, Patrik Sj\u00f6land, Graeme Storm, Simon Thornton and Anthony Wall.<\/span><\/p>\n
