The Spanish golfer has achieved the victory in the courses Santa Clara Golf Mabrella and Marbella Golf Country Club with a total score of 199 strokes in three rounds. His cards say it all: 68, 65 and 66. Exceptional.

Marcos has dominated the tournament from start to finish with an iron hand, leading from the first day to the last. So much so that the second classified, the Swede Andreas Andersson, a player with a good experience in the European Tour and the Challenge Tour, finished eight strokes behind, while the third place was shared by the German Dominic Pietzsch and the Swede Viktor Kratz, both at a sidereal distance of eleven strokes behind the champion.

Pastor has made a real tribute to the birdie this week on the Costa del Sol. He has signed a whopping 23 birdies in 54 holes. That is, the stratospheric average is a birdie every two and a half holes. Uncontestable.

The tournament has once again demonstrated the international character of the Gecko Tour. Nearly a hundred golfers participated and more than twenty nationalities were represented, from Spain to Germany, including Great Britain, Ireland, Denmark, Canada, the United States, and other more exotic countries such as Estonia or Slovenia.

The event was played over three days at the Santa Clara and Marbella Golf CC courses, which have once again shown a very high level of preparation, as is clearly reflected in the good results achieved. After the second round there was a cut set at +2 and twenty-one players passed, including the brilliant French amateur, Lauralie Migneaux.

Marcos Pastor consolidates his leadership in the Gecko’s order of merit after this victory. In addition, the triumph allows him to soften the bad taste in his mouth left by the European Tour School. He arrived very well prepared, but an injury just before the start of the first round made him play with a lot of discomfort and he ended up out of action.

Pastor played with a fracture in the calcaneus of his left foot, an ailment that still drags. “On Friday I had an MRI and it is improving, but it still remains. It is welding and the edema is less, but you have to be patient,” said Pastor is very satisfied with his game this week, although he says that “my best tournament is yet to come. There is always room for improvement and that’s how I see it. I am very good with my putting and focused on the course. I would say that the best thing is the routine”, he affirms.

The next Gecko tournament will take place at the Marbella Club Golf Resort from November 17 to 19.

Marcos Pastor has conquered the third round of the Gecko Tour with an extraordinary exhibition.
