At 27 years of age, Jason Day is living one of the best moments of his career, which in recent weeks has reached its peak with his victories in the fourth Major of the season, the US PGA Championship, and in The Barclays, with which he pocketed almost 2.5 million euros.<\/p>\n

The Australian player, long considered one of golf\u2019s brightest young talents, believes he has the keys that have led him to rise decisively to the Olympus of great golfers. Not in vain, he is already number 3 in the world, behind Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth. Speaking to the press in the run-up to the BMW Championship, which starts today, Day said it\u2019s all a matter of the mind. <\/p>\n

\u201cI always thought,\u201d he explained, \u201cthat I had the skills to play and win at the highest level and be competitive, but mentally I think the last piece of the puzzle was to really believe. It\u2019s easy to say, just go ahead and believe in yourself \u2026. But how do you believe in yourself when you don\u2019t know what to believe? That was the hardest part for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

And he continued with his reflections: \u201cI see a rich person and say \u2018you\u2019re rich.\u2019 But if they don\u2019t really believe they\u2019re rich, then they\u2019re not going to believe it. It\u2019s easy to say you have a great swing and you\u2019re one of the best players, but if you don\u2019t really believe it, you\u2019re never going to be. That\u2019s what I was talking about, that\u2019s the last piece of the puzzle. Everybody here is good. Everybody\u2019s a good golfer. Everybody can be great. The biggest thing that separates the best players in the world from the good players is upstairs (in the head).\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
