Patrick Wills, 59, signed for 57 strokes, 14 under par, which included three holes-in-one in a round of a 6,021-yard amateur tournament at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va.<\/p>\n
Two of the three holes-in-one of this former Marine’s incredible round took place on par fours.<\/p>\n
Wills, who is a +4 handicap, was playing the round with his two sons and an Air Force major.<\/p>\n
After one of his sons told him that his tee shot on the 289-yard, par-4, 289-yard 7th sank the hole, “my heart jumped a little in disbelief,” Wills said.<\/p>\n
When he holed the 334-yard, par-4 10th from the tee, Wills felt “surprised, stymied, incredulous.”<\/p>\n
And when on the par-3, 187-yard 14th, his five-iron shot ended up directly in the hole he felt like this: “It’s one of those surreal experiences, everything was moving in slow motion and I was trying to take it all in”.<\/p>\n

“It was a shock to me,” said Laurel Hill PGA director Gen Orrico, who verified the card.<\/p>\n
“Patrick has been coming here for a long time; he is an honorable and respected man,” Orrico said.<\/p>\n
In the 47 years he has been playing golf, Wills had shot 22 holes-in-one before his incredible round of three.<\/p>\n
The star told Yahoo Sports that he understands people’s skepticism.<\/p>\n
“People can believe what they want to believe – I fought for that freedom,” Wills said. “But I know what I did in the round, my fellow players know it and so do the participants in the tournament.” <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
