The Real Club Valderrama Open de Espa\u00f1a-Fundaci\u00f3n Sergio Garc\u00eda will bring together next week an excellent group of international champions led by Martin Kaymer, winner of two Majors, the US Open 2014 and the PGA Championship 2010. Victor Dubuisson, Andy Sullivan and S\u00f8ren Kjeldsen did not want to miss the return of the San Roque course to the European Tour. <\/p>\n
German Martin Kaymer is one of the great attractions of the Spanish Open at the Real Club Valderrama, with Sergio Garcia as host. Kaymer has won 11 titles on the European Tour, including the two Majors. His performance in the 2012 Ryder Cup is especially remembered by fans, as he holed the putt that made the Miracle of Medinah possible, when the Europeans, captained by Jos\u00e9 Mari Olaz\u00e1bal, staged a comeback that seemed impossible to win the cup. <\/p>\n
Other players ranked among the top 50 in the world who have confirmed their presence at Real Club Valderrama, in addition to Kaymer, are the Englishmen Andy Sullivan and Chris Wood, the Frenchman Victor Dubuisson and the Dane S\u00f8ren Kjeldsen, winner of the Volvo Masters 2008 and the Open de Andaluc\u00eda 2009 in our country, as well as the Diageo Championship at Gleneagles 2003 and Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation 2015.<\/p>\n
Defending the title will be Englishman James Morrison, winner last year at the R.C.G. El Prat. Next to him will be his compatriot Ross Fisher, who has five victories on the European Tour including the one he won at Finca Cortesin in the Volvo World Match Play 2009. <\/p>\n
The Spanish Open will also feature three players who have already won a tournament this season. They are the South Africans Brandon Stone and Haydn Porteous, who triumphed in the BMW SA Open and Joburg Open, respectively; as well as SSP Chawrasia who won the Indian Open. <\/p>\n
Other names on the Tour include Thomas Pieters, Thorbjorn Olesen, Nicolas Colsaerts, Matteo Manassero, Paul McGinley and the winners of past editions of the Spanish Open, Thomas Levet, Rapha\u00ebl Jacquelin, Niclas Fast, Peter Hanson, Kenneth Ferrie and Jarmo Sandelin.<\/p>\n
S\u00f8ren Kjeldsen: \u201cI am delighted to play the Spanish Open at Valderrama. I\u2019ve been second, first and second the last three times I\u2019ve played there, so coming back is a dream come true. I really like the course and the strategy that Valderrama demands, you have to go straight even though it is usually windy and that suits my game very well. I have very special memories of my victory there in the Volvo Masters. I\u2019m delighted to be back.<\/p>\n
