Pisha” has won three of the ten tournaments played in the U.S. Senior Tour: Greater Gwinnett Championship 2014, Mitsubishi Electric Championship 2015 and Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic presented by C-Spire 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n Miguel \u00c1ngel Jim\u00e9nez: “Very happy, very happy with this victory and that makes three! It has been a very busy tournament, on Friday it rained and the day was suspended and yesterday we had to play 36 holes. Today was a magnificent day and I played very well, without getting into trouble or making mistakes, a round without bogeys and with four birdies. <\/p>\n “I’m going to miss the Open de Espa\u00f1a very much. When I found out it was being played at Valderrama it was like a stab in the back, a very painful stab. In December I asked the Spanish Federation if there would be a tournament and, when they said no, I made a commitment to my sponsors in the United States to play a Champions Tour event. I have never broken my word and it hurts me a lot. <\/p>\n “I’m sure it’s going to be a great Open de Espa\u00f1a at Valderrama, a course that brings back wonderful memories, where I’ve had the good fortune to live unforgettable experiences and key moments that have left a lifelong impression.<\/p>\n “I start to remember and I can’t stop: my first Volvo Masters in ’89 and all those that followed, the albatross on the 17th hole (1994), the Ryder Cup with Seve that I will never forget, the play-off with Tiger, the third round of the Andaluc\u00eda Masters with Sergio, how we enjoyed that day! “I’m hitting the ball well and I felt comfortable again. The key was on the 10th hole: after missing the drive to the rough on the left and missing the green with the approach, I hit an 18-meter drive for birdie at a moment when I needed it. From then on, I hit very good shots and made the putts. <\/span><\/p>\n
