The splendid course of La Reserva Club Sotogrande, one of the best creations of the prestigious American designer Cabell B. Robinson, has hosted with great success the Tournament\u00a0Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge, included in the circuit of championships\u00a0open amateurs this year celebrates its seventh edition and is played during the summer in the best clubs\u00a0\u00a0 of the Costa del Sol.<\/p>\n
On a sunny day with a playing field in magnificent conditions that garnered high praise from both those who had played it before and those who played it for the first time on this occasion, the tournament, as usual in this circuit,\u00a0gathered players\u00a0among which were represented many nationalities: Spanish, Swedish, British, Russian, Swiss, French \u2026.<\/p>\n
The awards ceremony, which\u00a0took place on the terrace of the elegant clubhouse,\u00a0where a splendid and varied cocktail was served with tasty appetizers followed by a tasty paella and desserts of pastries and fruit skewers, had\u00a0a \u201cchampionship\u201d surprise, as it was attended by Manuel Pi\u00f1ero, the three-time World Champion.<\/p>\n
Pi\u00f1ero dedicated some affectionate words to Andaluc\u00eda Golf, whose magazine celebrates its thirtieth anniversary this year, and highlighted the quality of La Reserva Club Sotogrande. The famous Spanish player, winner of two Ryder Cups and eight European Tour titles,\u00a0was accompanied at the awards ceremony by the editors\u00a0Andalucia Golf, Antonio Sanchez and Stefan Tjellander, in turn CEO of Holiday Golf, the director of the golf clothing and footwear store\u00a0Fairway + Blue\u00a0of Puerto Banus, Sebastien Rieg, and\u00a0responsible for events at the host club, Sara Moreno. <\/p>\n
In terms of sporting results, on this occasion the women proved to be fitter than the men, and the victories were won by the women in both categories.<\/p>\n
In the first category, Almudena Ucillos won with 40\u00a0points, followed by Thomas Johansson,\u00a0with 38, and Enrique Bejarano, with 36.<\/p>\n
In the second category, Elena Zagrebelnaya won with 41 points.\u00a0Sam Moss was second with 38 points, while third place went to Lourdes G\u00f3mez L\u00f3pez, who scored 36 points.<\/p>\n
In the scratch category, the prize went to Jean Claude Goetz, who won a magnificent painting by the prestigious painter Alejandro Hermann, who has a studio in Marbella.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0special prizes for closest ball to flag and longest drive went to Lina L\u00f3pez, Esteban Rodr\u00edguez Sevillano\u00a0and Enrique de Guzm\u00e1n.<\/p>\n
