Young English star Georgia Hall had three main objectives for 2017. \u201cMy goals at the start of this year were to get in the European Solheim Cup team and to be in the top 50 in the world \u2013 and I\u2019m 41st\u00a0now \u2013 and to get my first win.\u201d <\/p>\n

With the first two now achieved, she is seeking a hat-trick this week in the Andaluc\u00eda Costa del Sol Open de Espa\u00f1a Femenino at Royal Guadalmina in Marbella.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to win it,\u201d said Georgia, who tied for 10th\u00a0place in the Evian Championship last Sunday, moving up seven places to 41st\u00a0in the world rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI played a practice round with Suzann Pettersen and the golf course is very nice. It\u2019s a lot different to last week, with fewer slopes, but the weather is a lot better. It\u2019s not as tight as Evian and you do have a little bit of room out there, but the greens are quite small as well, so approach shots are very important \u2013 and you have to putt well on this golf course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Georgia\u2019s best finish on the Ladies European Tour was second in last year\u2019s Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, but she has stepped up a level in her fifth year on Tour, with five top-10 finishes from six appearances. She tied for third at the World Ladies Championship, was joint fourth in the Lalla Meryem Cup, and tied for 34th\u00a0in the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open, ninth in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and third at the Ricoh Women\u2019s British Open, on top of her share of 10th\u00a0place in The Evian. She also earned two points for Europe on her debut Solheim Cup appearance in Iowa last month. <\/p>\n

She is number three on the LET Order of Merit with earnings of \u20ac302,816.39 from six tournaments played this season. The Evian Championship winner Anna Nordqvist is first with \u20ac555,556.33 and the Ricoh Women\u2019s British Open champion, In-Kyung Kim, is second with \u20ac519,539.95 after three events played, but they need to play in a minimum of five LET ranking events to remain on the Order of Merit following the final event, the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, ending on December 9. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat was my other goal, to win the order of merit, and I think I\u2019m in a good position,\u201d Hall said. \u201cThe two players above me need to play in five events so if they don\u2019t play I will be pushed up into first, so hopefully I\u2019ll have a good finish to the year.
