It used to be The British Open, then it was The Open\u00a0Championship\u00a0and now it\u2019s The Open.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>Miller responded that he was still confused about it, but that the tournament was always known as the\u00a0British Open when he was competing\u00a0and so\u00a0is\u00a0as he still calls it,\u00a0at least when he\u2019s not televising.\u00a0\u201cI have problems with it,\u201d Miller said. \u201cI screwed up once last year; if you call that\u00a0a screw-up, it\u2019s not bad if I only did it once in four days.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Faldo jokingly replied, \u201cIn five years it will simply be called \u2018The\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is the eternal debate, pitting traditionalists (generally of British origin) against heretics from other parts of the world who fiercely defend the status of their own national tournaments:\u00a0US Open, Spanish Open, Australian Open\u00a0\u2026.
