Speaking to USA Today on the range at Albany Golf Club during a two-hour practice session last Sunday, Woods offered an assessment of how he’s hitting the golf ball. “I have way more shots now, because I’ve played way more golf. I only had a handful of shots back then,” he said, referring to his previously aborted planned return to the game in October. “And you just saw a session where I hit everything. And I had control of everything. I can hit all the shots now, on call.” <\/p>\n

Woods said he was “Ready to go” for this week’s event, but he admitted he had butterflies about teeing it up inside the ropes for the first time in more than 15 months. “If I wasn’t nervous, that would mean I didn’t care.
