With 11 European Tour titles to his name, including two Majors &#8211; the 2014 US Open and the 2010 PGA Championship &#8211; the German immortalised himself in the golfing history books by holing the putt that ensured that Europe would retain the Ryder Cup at Medinah. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p2=\"\">Kaymer will face stern opposition from international players ranked in the world top 50 such as Englishmen Andy Sullivan and Chris Wood, France&#8217;s Victor Dubuisson or Denmark&#8217;s S\u00f8ren Kjeldsen, winner of four titles including the Volvo Masters, the season-ending event at Valderrama, in 2008.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p2=\"\">England&#8217;s James Morrison will look to successfully defend the title that he won 12 months ago at R.C.G. El Prat. He will be joined by compatriot and five-time European Tour winner Ross Fisher. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p2=\"\">hree 2016 European Tour Season winners will be presented this week: South Africans Brandon Stone and Haydn Porteous and India&#8217;s SSP Chawrasia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p2=\"\">Other European Tour big names such as Thomas Pieters, Thorbjorn Olesen, Nicolas Colsaerts, Matteo Manassero, and Paul McGinley have confirmed their attendance, as well as past winners Thomas Levet, Rapha\u00ebl Jacquelin, Niclas Fast, Peter Hanson, Kenneth Ferrie and Jarmo Sandelin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p1=\"\">S\u00f8ren Kjeldsen: &#8220;It&#8217;s great to play the Spanish Open at Valderrama. I love the course &#8211; I finished second, first, second the last three times I played there, so for me it&#8217;s a dream come true that we are going back. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p1=\"\">&#8220;I love the place and I love playing the golf you need to play around there. You need to keep it straight and it gets windy round there, so it suits my game. I&#8217;ve got some special memories of my win there and it will be great to go back.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\\\" p1=\"\">The Real Club Valderrama Open de Espa\u00f1a Hosted by the Sergio Garc\u00eda Foundation is promoted by the European Tour, with the support of Real Federaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Golf and the Spanish High Council for Sports.
