The seventh round of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge Destino “La Romana Golf Club Bah\u00eda Pr\u00edncipe” in the Dominican Republic was played on Saturday, August 25 at Valle Romano (Estepona), a great course designed by the prestigious American designer Cabell B. Robinson, collaborator for many years of the legendary Robert Trent Jones Senior.<\/span> There were very positive comments about the condition of the course, and it was a pity that there was no wind to cool the hot day. Fortunately, the players were able to refresh themselves at the refreshment table that Ona Valle Romano Golf & Resort set up between holes 1 and 10, with sandwiches, fruit skewers and cold water. It was also the aforementioned apartment establishment that the Ona Hotels chain has in Valle Romano that served lunch in the restaurant of the magnificent clubhouse, receiving special praise for the fideua that was served. <\/span>As usual in these tournaments, Spanish and foreign players of different nationalities attended this new round of the Circuit organized by Andaluc\u00eda Golf magazine, with a total of one hundred players.<\/span><\/p>\n
The first five classified in each category obtained a place in the grand final of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Circuit, which will be played at the RCG Guadalmina (South Course) on September 30 and where the five trips to the Dominican Republic will be decided. <\/span><\/p>\n
The prize consists of a week at the Bahia Principe Bouganville Hotel (five stars) all inclusive, flight and four rounds of golf (two at La Romana Golf Club, one at Punta Espada (Cap Cana) and one at Diente de Perro (Casa de Campo).
The first five classified in Valle Romano in first category were, in this order, Mar\u00eda Aurora Morgado Melendo, with 43 points, Adri\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Luj\u00e1n (42), Jos\u00e9 Rom\u00e1n Mart\u00edn (42), Salvador Gonz\u00e1lez Mart\u00edn (40) and Javier Mielgo Migue (38).
In the second category, the five who qualified for the final were David Do\u00f1a Naranjos, with 41 points, Vincent de Sadeleer (38), Lorenzo Bison (37), Arturo Manuel Cebri\u00e1n Garc\u00eda (36) and Jos\u00e9 Antonio Aparicio Puig (35).
As for the special awards, the Closest Ball went to Salvador Ben\u00edtez Rubio; and the Longest Drive, to Juan J. Rojas.<\/span>
The Scratch winner was Adri\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Luj\u00e1n, who had as a special prize a magnificent painting by the prestigious Marbella-based painter Alejandro Hermann.
As usual, after the round of play, the sports day concluded with the prize-giving ceremony, a raffle of gifts and a lunch on the terrace of the clubhouse restaurant.<\/span><\/p>\n
