It certainly seems miraculous. What the English amateur Ali Gibb did on Tuesday in a 36-hole tournament at the <\/span>Croham Hurst Golf Club in Surrey, is something out of the ordinary. The 51-year-old scored three holes-in-one in the two-day competition. Specifically, all three came in a span of 25 holes, only eight of which were par 3s. Outstanding.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/a>“It’s absolutely extraordinary,” Gibb told BBC Sport. <\/span>“I think I’ll wake up tomorrow wondering if I’ve been dreaming about it and if today is the club’s championship day instead,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Predictably, Gibb, who said that until that miraculous tournament he had previously made three holes-in-one in his sporting life, won the tournament, successfully defending his club’s title. <\/span>But despite the three holes-in-one, the amateur’s two rounds were not without ups and downs. The <\/span>player, handicap 6, made 9 strokes on the last hole of the first round and needed 8 to finish the first hole of her second round, which prevented her from dropping below 80 on both days (she signed 75 and 76 respectively). The holes-in-one came twice on the 144-yard 5th and the other on the 190-yard 11th.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Our pro, Adam, came up to me and said, ‘I’ve had a hole-in-one in 42 years, and you just had three in five hours,'” Gibb said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
