The lack of sunlight yesterday forced to suspend until today the final duel that will determine the first champion of the Women\u2019s Grand Slam 2018. The confrontation, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, has as protagonists the Swedish Pernilla Lindberg and the South Korean Inbee Park after yesterday fell eliminated, on the third hole of the playoff, the other player who was involved in the triple playoff, the American Jennifer Song. If the European player wins, it will be Lindberg\u2019s first major title and her first victory in a tournament on the LPGA Tour, the American Women\u2019s Tour. <\/p>\n

Park, meanwhile, will be trying for her 20th LPGA Tour victory and eighth major. The Korean made her way into the playoff yesterday after holing four birdies in the last six holes, including one from eight yards downhill on the 17th. <\/p>\n

Park, referring to her opponent today, had this to say, \u201cIt\u2019s always exciting to see someone playing very well in a big one when she hasn\u2019t been in that position. Even though she doesn\u2019t have a lot of experience, I think we\u2019re all in the same situation in the tiebreaker. We\u2019re all nervous. Everyone wants a big win, so I think we\u2019re playing on the same terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lindberg said: \u201cI didn\u2019t look at the leaderboard all day. I only had one number in my head and that number was 16. Obviously, I didn\u2019t get to 16 (he finished at 15 under par on the overall score), but on the tee on the 18th hole my caddie told me I had to make a birdie to get into the playoff, and I did.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
