The presence of this luxury trio is also reinforced by the participation of English player Trish Johnson and American Beth Allen, both winners of multiple tournaments and even of the annual ranking of the European circuit.<\/span><\/p>\n

All of them are an outstanding incentive for a tournament characterized by the high concentration of good players. Special mention of course for Laura Davies, winner of the Women’s Spanish Open in 1986 in La Manga and in 2010 in Flamingos, who has an impressive sporting record, with more than 80 victories behind her in all the Professional Tours and a dozen participations in the Solheim Cup. <\/span><\/p>\n

With twenty-five years of professional experience in both the LPGA and the LET, Catriona Matthew has earned the respect of the entire women’s golf community both for her excellent results – six victories between the American and European Tours, including the Women’s British Open in 2009, as well as five participations in the Solheim Cup – and for her affability, which led her to successfully take on the last duel between the European and North American teams held in Scotland.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>For her part, 36-year-old American Christina Kim, a player who has developed a successful career on the American Tour, famous for her extroverted way of behaving on and off the course -including her flamboyant way of dressing-, has contributed to winning the Solheim Cup twice, in 2005 and 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chistina Kim also rose to fame when she became the youngest player to win $1 million in prize money, a record set in 2004 but later surpassed by Paula Cramer in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n

Attention is also focused on American Beth Allen, who accumulates experience and good results especially noteworthy when she contests the Women’s Spanish Open, a tournament she is traditionally good at, with outstanding results that were highlighted for example in 2014 and 2016, when she finished third and second, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, the Englishwoman Trish Johnson is another example of dazzling sporting career, an essential reference for the young values of the Ladies European Tour not only for her sporting quality -more than 25 wins in the main Circuits and eight participations in the Solheim Cup-, but also for her elegant way of teaching both on and off the golf courses.<\/span><\/p>\n


Essential support for the holding of the tournament<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda and the co-financing of FEDER funds, Turismo Costa del Sol and Acosol – Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental <\/b>is part of a sports and tourism promotion effort, aware of the attraction of golf among national and foreign tourists, who find in this sport another incentive when choosing this Spanish region as a destination.<\/span><\/p>\n

This important competition also has the support of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, Aloha Golf Club, Consejo Superior de Deportes and Ladies European Tour.
