The magnificent Old Course<\/strong> of the Costa del Sol\u2019s Atalaya Golf & Country Club<\/strong>, in the municipality of Estepona, was the setting for the final of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge 2020 Destination Dominican Republic Ocean\u2019s 4 Bah\u00eda Pr\u00edncipe<\/strong>, a circuit of open amateur championships which this year celebrates its tenth edition and which has been played on sixteen courses, among which are some of the most prestigious in the country. The scratch champion, Gonzalo Lillly Mart\u00ednez <\/strong>(41 points), the first two classified in first category, Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s Torres Cabral <\/strong>and Francisco L\u00f3pez Castro<\/strong> (both with 39 points), and the first two in second category, Manuel Jes\u00fas Godoy del Roj<\/strong> (43) and Luis Miguel Rodr\u00edguez Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> (41), were the winners of the five trips to the Dominican Republic. five one-week trips to the Dominican Republic <\/span><\/strong>including flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Ocean\u2019s 4, Teeth of The Dog and Punta Espada<\/span>.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Although there was a forecast of rain, in the end it only appeared, and very lightly, for about twenty minutes, so the final of the circuit organized by the <\/span>Andaluc\u00eda Golf \/ Espa\u00f1a Golf magazine<\/strong> developed comfortably. The hundred or so participants enjoyed the great course designed by Bernard von Limburger<\/strong>, one of the best known golf architects in Germany and who in addition to Atalaya Golf designed 74 courses.<\/span> <\/p>\n

After the competition, the participants went to the El Gamonal restaurant<\/strong> in Marbella, where they enjoyed a fantastic lunch, all under strict measures recommended by the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda in relation to Covid 19, with tables for four and six people, safety distances and in a completely open and ventilated room. <\/p>\n

Before the awards ceremony, the director of Atalaya Golf, Andr\u00e9s S\u00e1nchez;<\/strong> the director of Santa Clara Granada on behalf of Granada Destino de Golf, Joaqu\u00edn Serrano<\/strong>, who spoke about the benefits of a high-level golf and cultural tourism destination; the president of the Holiday Golf business group, Stefan Tjellander<\/strong>; the president of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, Pablo Mansilla<\/strong>, and the Councilor for Sports of the City of Marbella, Manuel Carde\u00f1a<\/strong>, took the floor.<\/p>\n
