The XI Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge \u2018Destination PGA Riviera Maya Bahia Principe\u2019 held its first tournament of the month of May at Santa Clara Golf Granada<\/strong><\/a>. Sunny weather accompanied the day, although strong winds made their appearance from noon onwards. The course, from which the white peaks of the Sierra Nevada can be seen, was in very good conditions for the practice of golf.
<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the results of the tournament, the scratch winner was <\/span>Juan Luis Ballesteros Pel\u00e1ez<\/strong>, with 38 scratch points. In the first category, the winner was <\/span>Juan Jos\u00e9 Medina V\u00e1zquez<\/strong>, with 43 points, followed by <\/span>Manuel G\u00f3mez Gutierrez<\/strong> (36) and Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rosales Segura<\/strong> (36). In the second category, the best was <\/span>Francisco P\u00e9rez S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, with 41 points, Mar\u00eda Elvira del Rosal Cimadevilla<\/strong> <\/span>was second, with 39 points, and Serge <\/strong><\/span>Janssens<\/strong>, with the same score, obtained the third place. <\/span>COMPLETE RESULTS<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

As for special prizes, the closest ball to the flag was won by <\/span><\/span>Miguel Angel Maqueda Ortega<\/span><\/strong>the longest drive for gentlemen was won by <\/span><\/span>Juan Manuel P\u00e9rez Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong><\/span>and the longest drive for ladies was won by <\/span><\/span>Ana Ortiz Martinez<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The competition held in Santa Clara Granada<\/strong> was the sixth of the twenty-five <\/strong>that make up the eleventh edition of this open amateur circuit. <\/span>organized by the magazine Andaluc\u00eda Golf \/ Espa\u00f1a Golf<\/strong>. The circuit will travel between March and October through the Andalusian provinces of Malaga, Cadiz, Huelva, Almeria, Seville and Granada, as well as Madrid and Segovia, with most of the rounds taking place on the Costa del Sol. <\/p>\n

The grand finale of the circuit, from which the <\/span>five winners of the trips to the Mexican Caribbean<\/strong> will be chosen, will be played at <\/span>Marbella Club Golf Resort<\/a> on October 2<\/strong> <\/span>and will be followed by a gala dinner at the <\/span>El Gamonal Restaurant<\/a><\/strong> in Marbella.<\/p>\n

The <\/span>access to the final<\/strong> <\/span>will be direct for the <\/span>scratch winner<\/strong> and the winners of each category<\/strong> in <\/span>each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded based on the <\/span>ranking<\/strong> <\/span>prepared from the points obtained in each event, taking into account the six best scores obtained throughout the Circuit (there is no minimum number of events to be played).<\/p>\n

The <\/span>Cadena SER<\/strong> <\/span>and the <\/span>Andaluc\u00eda Golf\/Espa\u00f1a Golf magazine<\/strong> <\/span>are the official media of the Circuit.<\/p>\n

PGA RIVIERA MAYA BAHIA PRINCIPE DESTINATION<\/strong><\/span>
The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya (Luxury Akumal hotel) with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba, Playa Paraiso and Gran Coyote. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on October 2 at Marbella Club Golf Resort, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean. <\/p>\n
