The magnificent Old Course of Atalaya Golf<\/strong>, in Estepona, <\/strong>has put the finishing touch<\/strong> to the qualifying phase <\/strong>of the XI <\/strong>Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge Circuit<\/b>, which has as its grand final prize five trips to Riviera Maya, in Mexico, for a week, including flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf in three of the best courses in the Caribbean: PGA Riviera Maya, El Camale\u00f3n Mayacoba and Playa Para\u00edso.<\/b><\/p>\n

The course masterfully directed by Andr\u00e9s S\u00e1nchez <\/strong>is one of the great layouts of the Costa del Sol, and the experience of playing it is always worthwhile. Sunny weather and a pleasant temperature accompanied the lucky participants in the tournament, who were able to reserve their places in time before they were sold out due to the great demand to play at Atalaya. After the competition and the prize-giving ceremony, Mirko, from the club’s restaurant, served an exquisite paella. Before, halfway through the course, the Gamonal restaurant offered a snack consisting of a drink and a veal sandwich with truffle sauce that delighted the players. <\/p>\n

<\/b>As far as sports results are concerned, in the first category, the first three classified were Javier Rodero D\u00edaz (41 points),<\/b>Fernando Ramos Oliva<\/strong><\/span> <\/span>(<\/span>39<\/span>) and Helmut Brune <\/strong>(39<\/span>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The top three in the second category were Oliver Hubner<\/b> (41 points), Mar\u00eda del Carmen Noguero Aguililla<\/strong> <\/b>(40) and Miguel \u00c1ngel Mu\u00f1oz Torres <\/strong>(39).<\/p>\n

The scratch winner was Alexander Camerman<\/strong>, with 37 scratch points.<\/p>\n

As for the special prizes, the closest ball to the flag went to Mar\u00eda del Carmen Noguero Aguililla<\/strong>, and the longest drive was won by Concha N\u00fa\u00f1ez Pay\u00e1 <\/strong>and Javier Rodero D\u00edaz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As in the previous two years, this open amateur circuit organized by the magazine Andaluc\u00eda Golf\/Espa\u00f1a Golf<\/b> has as a prize for the final five trips to the Caribbean by the hand of Grupo Pi\u00f1ero<\/b>. Apart from the prizes of each competition, the first classified in each category plus the scratch winner of each tournament get a direct place to play the grand final of the circuit at the Marbella Golf Resort on October 2, with closing dinner of the circuit at the restaurant El Gamonal<\/strong> in Marbella and thus opt for one of the five trips to Riviera Maya for a week. The remaining places for the final game are obtained based on a ranking based on the points obtained in the tournaments played. <\/p>\n

The trip to the Riviera Maya<\/strong> is scheduled for November 6-14 of<\/strong> this year. Two rounds will be played at the PGA Riviera Maya, <\/strong>one at Mayakoba <\/strong>(after the completion of the PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Classic<\/strong>) and another at Playa Paraiso<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya (Bahia Principe Grand Tulum hotel *****) with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba, and Playa Paraiso. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on October 2 at Marbella Club Golf Resort, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean. <\/p>\n
