For the third consecutive year, the Playa Serena<\/strong> course, in the Almeria municipality of Roquetas de Mar, has once again successfully hosted a round of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge Circuit ‘Destination PGA Riviera Maya’.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As in all the tests, the winners of first and second category and scratch get the right to play the final on September 30 in Almenara. Jos\u00e9 Manuel Berenguel<\/strong> announced that it will not be possible, since he will be attending his university in Arkansas on those dates. In this case, there is a vacancy, which will be covered by another player of the BENAHAV\u00cdS RANKING<\/strong> in which the ranking points obtained in up to 6 events are computed. <\/p>\n

The course is being prepared to host the great test of the Challenge of Spain<\/strong>, belonging to the European Challenge Tour<\/strong>, from September 7. The fairways have been considerably narrowed, with much more attractive and interesting fairway patterns. The course was in an excellent condition, it will undoubtedly be presented in a fantastic way and will be a great challenge for the professionals who will be present at the event. We congratulate the club’s director, Francisco Javier Mart\u00edn Mendoza<\/strong>, for how the course is being prepared and how members and visitors can enjoy it. <\/p>\n

Participation exceeded expectations and registrations had to be closed several days before the event. There was a shotgun start for 112 players, who enjoyed refreshments in the middle of the course and an exceptionally good cocktail party for the awards ceremony. <\/p>\n

The standard of the Playa Serena restaurant, under the expert direction of Jos\u00e9 \u00c1lvarez<\/strong>, is well above average and a great option for those visiting the area, regardless of whether they have the opportunity to play. Jos\u00e9 \u00c1lvarez holds the Michelin Star<\/strong>, obtained in 2006 and renewed every year since then, in his restaurant La Costa<\/strong>, in El Ejido, an establishment also distinguished with a Sun of the Repsol Guide<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The president of the club, Miguel Garc\u00eda Soriano<\/strong>, presented the delivery after which there was a raffle of gifts that closed a very pleasant day. The work of the whole team of the club to attend the players is exquisite, we want to mention especially the support and attentions received by the head of tournaments, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Parr\u00f3n<\/strong> and Inma Rodr\u00edguez, <\/strong>supervisor of Golf Operations and Customer Service. <\/p>\n

The scratch, first and second category winners won a place in the final of the Circuit organized by Andaluc\u00eda Golf\/Espa\u00f1a Golf magazine, where the fabulous five trips to the Riviera Maya<\/strong> will be decided next October.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span>This tournament completes the first seventeen of the almost thirty tournaments that make up the thirteenth edition of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge ‘Destino PGA Riviera Maya by Bah\u00eda Pr\u00edncipe’, an<\/strong> open amateur circuit organized by the Andaluc\u00eda Golf\/Espa\u00f1a Golf magazine.<\/strong> The circuit will cover all the Andalusian provinces, as well as others in the center of Spain, with most of the events taking place on the Costa del Sol, on top-level courses. <\/span><\/p>\n

The grand final<\/strong> of the Circuit, from which the five winners of the trips to the Mexican Caribbean<\/strong> will be chosen, will be played on September 30 in Almenara<\/strong> and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalp\u00edn Ban\u00fas<\/strong> in Marbella.
<\/span><\/p>\n

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner of each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded on the basis of the Benahav\u00eds Ranking<\/strong> based on the points obtained in each event.<\/p>\n

The next appointment of the Circuit is on Saturday, July 15<\/strong> in Chaparral<\/b> (Costa del Sol).<\/span><\/p>\n
