Shortly after having hosted with great success the LIV Golf Andaluc\u00eda<\/strong>, the Real Club Valderrama<\/strong> was once again the venue for a round of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge<\/strong> Tour<\/strong>. The extraordinary course, scene of the 1997 Ryder Cup<\/strong>, presented, as always, perfect conditions, with magnificent greens as usual, very fast, although the general manager of the prestigious club, Javier Reviriego<\/strong>, said that he would have liked a little faster, but that it was impossible with the heat that has been these days. <\/span><\/p>\n

As has happened in all previous editions of the Circuit organized by Andaluc\u00eda Golf magazine <\/strong>at RC Valderrama<\/strong>, the available places were sold out well in advance. Andaluc\u00eda Golf would like to thank Silvia Serrano<\/strong>, Director of Golf Operations at RC Valderrama<\/strong>, for the support she has always given to the Tour, and Javier Reviriego<\/strong>, who on this occasion accompanied us at the awards ceremony, where he received a standing ovation<\/strong> from all the participants in the tournament. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning an extraordinary event<\/strong> that has taken place for the first time in the thirteen years of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge Circuit: the hole in one<\/strong> achieved by Fernando Alc\u00e1zar Padial<\/strong> on the 6th hole<\/strong> of the mythical Costa del Sol course, a par 3 of 122 meters<\/strong> that he managed to sink with a 9 iron.<\/strong> It was an extraordinary shot that Fernando will never forget. <\/span><\/p>\n

The scratch winners and the first and second category winners won a place in the final of the Circuit, where the fabulous five trips to the Riviera Maya<\/strong> to be held next October will be decided. The final<\/strong> will be played on September 30 in Almenara<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

This tournament completes the first eighteen of the almost thirty tournaments that make up the thirteenth edition of the Andaluc\u00eda Golf Challenge ‘Destino PGA Riviera Maya by Bah\u00eda Pr\u00edncipe’, an<\/strong> open amateur circuit organized by the Andaluc\u00eda Golf\/Espa\u00f1a Golf magazine.<\/strong> The circuit covers all the Andalusian provinces, as well as others in central Spain, with most of the events taking place on the Costa del Sol, on top-level courses. <\/span><\/p>\n

The grand final<\/strong> of the Circuit, from which the five winners of the trips to the Mexican Caribbean<\/strong> will be chosen, will be played on September 30 in Almenara<\/strong> and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalp\u00edn Ban\u00fas<\/strong> in Marbella.
<\/span><\/p>\n

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner of each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded on the basis of the Benahav\u00eds Ranking<\/strong> based on the points obtained in each event.<\/p>\n

The next appointments of the Circuit in July<\/strong> are on 22 in <\/strong>La Reserva Club Sotogrande<\/b> and 28 in Los Arqueros<\/b>, while in August<\/b> the tournaments will be held on 5 in Novo Sancti Petri <\/b>and 17 in El Para\u00edso<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba and Playa Paraiso. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on September 30 in Almenara, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean. <\/span><\/p>\n
