The player of the Real Club de Campo de Málaga, Mª Virginia Rodríguez, the player of Almerimar, José Escobar, and the also federated by the Real Club de Campo de Málaga, John Robilliard, have been proclaimed champions in their categories in the second qualifying round of the Senior Circuit of Andalusia 2015, which was held at Lauro Golf (Alhaurín de la Torre) with a very high success of participation.
A total of 96 players took part in the event, which was played in Stableford Handicap over 18 holes, and enjoyed the magnificent condition of the course and an unbeatable day’s play on the Malaga course.
In the ladies only category, Mª Virginia Rodríguez (Real Club de Campo de Málaga) led the classification thanks to a total of 42 points. Mª José Vegas Sillero followed her in second place with 37 points and in third place was Rosario Fernández (Granada Club de Golf), with 33 points.
For his part, José Escobar, federated by Almerimar Golf, was the winner of the first category of gentlemen, with 37 points, the same as those obtained by Francisco Cervilla (Andalusia Seniors Golf Association) who, having a lower handicap, was in second place. Third place, with 35 points, went to William Macmahon, also a member of the Andalusian Seniors Golf Association.
The victory in the second category of gentlemen has been for the player of the Real Club de Campo de Málaga, John Eric Robilliard, who has obtained 37 points, the same as the second classified, the player of Pozoblanco, Carlos Juarez. In third place was José Vidal de la Peña, with 34 points.
After lunch, the awards ceremony was held, which was attended by Ignacio Iturbe, Delegate of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation in Malaga and Assistant to the President; Francisco Cervilla, President of the Seniors Committee and Vocal of Foreigners of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Gonzalo Garcia, member of the Seniors Committee of the RFGA; and Susana Alba Nieminen, representing Lauro Golf.
