An unforgettable day in Los Arqueros Golf

Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club was the setting for a new date of the San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge – Costa del Sol – Destination Dominican Republic, which brought together 100 players and thus completed the maximum quota of participation. The course was in excellent condition, with impeccable greens, where the ball rolled with great speed and precision. This quality of play marked a notable difference with respect to the previous year, when the final of the circuit was also played at Los Arqueros, but the drought and the salinity of the recycled water affected the surface of several courses on the Costa del Sol. Thanks to the rains and the solution of infiltration problems in the seawater pipes, the course offered its best version, providing the participants with a first class sporting experience.

Ideal conditions and shooting

The test was played with shotgun starts, a format that favors the coexistence between players and maintains the competitive intensity from the first shot. During the round, participants enjoyed San Miguel beers and Solán de Cabras water, a highly valued detail on a day of high-level golf. At the end of the 18 holes, a complimentary cocktail was offered as a prelude to the awards ceremony, presented by Antonio Lantero, director of Los Arqueros Golf.

An unstoppable scratch winner

One of the highlights of the day was the spectacular performance of the scratch winner, who signed a nearly perfect round with 9 strokes under par gross of the course, a mark really hard to beat. This result not only assured him the victory, but also his direct qualification for the grand final of the circuit.
