The SAN MIGUEL XVI ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE COSTA DEL SOL DESTINATION DOMINICAN REPUBLIC BY GLOBALIA held its third stage on Saturday, March 7, at Azata Golf.

The Azata course was presented in excellent condition, with greens that many players consider among the best on the Costa del Sol. Before the competition, participants enjoyed complimentary practice balls, buggies for everyone, and complete welcome packs prepared by the organizers.

Great atmosphere at the Azata Golf Tournament

The weather was much better than expected. Although the forecast was not especially favorable, the sun shone for much of the day, allowing players to fully enjoy the tournament.

The participants filled all available spots and played the round on a course presented in magnificent condition. During the round, homemade broth was offered to players, which was greatly appreciated and helped maintain a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.

The winners of each category and the overall scratch winner earn a direct place in the Circuit Final. The remaining available spots, including those arising from withdrawals, will be filled according to the Costa del Sol Ranking.

Lunch after tournament in Azata Golf

The day concluded with an extraordinary lunch prior to the prize-giving ceremony, served by Azata’s catering under the direction of Nacho Cabello and his team.

The menu began with a delicate cod carpaccio accompanied by salad, followed by a spectacular fabada and a pork knuckle highly praised by the participants. The lunch ended with a delicious passion fruit flan, perfectly rounding off the culinary experience of the day.

Nacho Cabello, who previously stood out with his well-known Estepona beach bar Pez en el Agua, also demonstrates at Azata his ability to deliver high-level cuisine. Additionally, the club’s restaurant can organize tailor-made meals for groups or parties wishing to enjoy a complete day of golf and gastronomy.

Prize-giving and giveaways

The prize-giving of the Azata Golf Tournament was presented by Francisco de Béthencourt, manager of Azata, whom the organizers congratulated for the excellent treatment of the players and the superb presentation of the course.

During the ceremony, a raffle was also held among the participants. Notable prizes included Bridgestone Tiger and e12 balls, two artisanal leather bags by Ofelia T from CORPORAT-E, two official circuit umbrellas from CORPORAT-E, a Magnum 100% Marco Real Verdejo, and a two-bottle Campustauro Selección gift case by Martín Berasategui from Grupo La Navarra.
