The Spanish Association Against Cancer has presented at Marbella Town Hall a new edition of its charity gala, the traditional Marbella Gala Dinner, which once again is paired with a charity golf tournament at the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas. Two events that bring together solidarity and sport in the Marbella summer.
The presentation, held at the town hall, was attended by Isabel Cintado, Councillor for Social Rights, Equality and Diversity, and Lisandro Vieytes, Councillor for Sport, Health and Districts, together with Santiago Gómez-Villares, president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Marbella, who called on companies and citizens to take part in this charity gala.
The Marbella charity gala turns 41

The 41st edition of the Marbella charity gala —the oldest on the Costa del Sol and one of the longest-running in Spain— will be held on 1 August at the Finca de la Concepción, one of the city’s most emblematic venues, aiming to top 600 guests after more than 640 last year. It will once again be hosted by Eva Ruiz and Poty Castillo, with confirmed performances by Efecto Mariposa and The Vintage Experience and, as a new feature this year, the collaboration of comedian Federico de Juan in the auction.
The evening will keep classics such as the raffle of more than 200 gifts and the draw for the jewellery chest donated by Joyería Gómez&Molina. The Fighter award, which comes with a piece by David Marshall, «La Concha de Marbella», recognises those who help to normalise the word cancer; this year it has gone to politician Borja Sémper, who has already confirmed his attendance at the charity gala.
A charity golf tournament at Real Club de Golf Las Brisas
The day before, on 31 July, Real Club de Golf Las Brisas will host the 5th Golf Tournament Against Cancer, an exclusive event for 120 players under the Better Ball Pairs Stableford format, whose proceeds —like those of the charity gala— go to the association’s free programmes and services in Marbella. Entry is 130€ with a shared buggy for non-members and 30€ without a buggy for members.
All participants will receive a welcome pack with a gift from the estate agency Mike’s Home, a box of three balls from Savills, a towel from Dr. Acosta Clínica Dental and a polo shirt from El Capote Golf, plus premium refreshments from Goyo Marbella and a cocktail reception at the prize-giving. There will be trophies from Ecomarb —made with 3D printing in recycled plastic—, prizes for the top three pairs and awards for the closest to the pin and the longest drive, along with a raffle of hotel nights, dinners, spa treatments and green fees.
Sponsors and a year-round effort
Both the charity gala and the tournament are supported by Marbella Town Hall, the main sponsorship of Tu Primer Hogar and the collaboration of the La Caixa Foundation through Caixabank, as well as brands such as C de Salamanca-Range Rover, Jamones Popi, Takumi, Viña Salceda and David Marshall. Over the past year, the association’s branch in Marbella cared for 462 patients and 135 relatives, with 2,318 support sessions, 847 in psychology and 732 in oncological physiotherapy, all free of charge.
Tickets for the charity gala and registration for the 5th Golf Tournament Against Cancer can already be booked by calling 952 776 800, from 9:00 to 14:00, or by writing to marbella@contraelcancer.es. The Spanish Association Against Cancer, with more than 70 years of history, is today the organisation that devotes the most private funds to cancer research in Spain.
