La Quinta Golf and Country Club situated in the well known Marbella’s Golf Valley, is one of the most attractive golf resorts on the Costa Del Sol. Designed by Antonio García Garrido and former Ryder Cup player and two-time World Cup champion Manuel Piñero, a successful round on this course requires accuracy in order to avoid its trees, water hazards but also the large, albeit shallow, sand traps along the fairways. Deeper bunkers lie in wait for stray approach shots to the greens. An additional 9 holes has been added to the original 18 offering more possibilities of different playing combinations. The clubhouse is one of the most beautiful and best equipped on the coast. La Quinta hosts prestigious tournaments such as the Volvo World Amateur Matchplay Final and the Benahavis Senior Masters, part of the European Seniors PGA.
HOW TO GET THERE
You can get to the club in three ways. First, by taking the N-340 to Puerto Banús and heading up towards the Nueva Andalucía bullring, thereby ending up in the Golf Valley. Second, by taking the Ronda road and turning off to the right at Km. 3.5. The other way is taking the motorway toll and turning off to San Pedro Alcántara.
