Benalmádena, 11 May 2026

On Saturday 30 May, La Cala Resort will host one of the Costa del Sol’s most iconic charity events: the XXXII edition of the Cudeca Cup, a benefit tournament whose primary goal is to raise funds for the Cudeca Foundation. Beyond the sporting competition, the Cudeca Cup represents a firm commitment to palliative care, helping people with advanced illnesses and their families receive comprehensive and free support at a particularly vulnerable time in their lives.

The XXXII Cudeca Cup arrives with a change in captaincy

This year, the tournament arrives with an important development: a new captaincy. Following a period marked by the dedication and commitment of Ed and Ineke de Kloe, the organisation welcomes Michelle and Richard Hollings, who take on the leadership with the goal of continuing to strengthen the spirit of solidarity that defines this event.

A full day of charity at the Campo América

The Cudeca Cup will take place at the renowned Campo América and will include, in addition to the tournament, a programme designed to encourage participation and collaboration: a solidarity lunch, prize-giving ceremony and charity auction, whose proceeds will go entirely to support the work of Cudeca.

As host of this event, La Cala Resort also reaffirms its commitment to society and to initiatives that generate a real positive impact on the community, supporting charitable actions that go beyond the sporting arena.

Three decades of commitment: the Cudeca Cup as a solidarity gathering point

With more than three decades of history, the Cudeca Cup has established itself as much more than a golf tournament: it is a meeting point for individuals, companies and organisations that share a common purpose — to accompany and care for those who need it most. Under the motto “Swing for a cause | Juega por una buena causa”, the organisation calls for active participation from society, inviting everyone to collaborate in a charity event that each year turns sport into real support for patients and families cared for by Cudeca.

About the Cudeca Foundation

The Cudeca Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing professional and free palliative care to people with cancer and other advanced illnesses. Its work goes far beyond physical treatment: it also offers psychological, social and spiritual support to patients and families, through what it calls its “special way of caring”.

Since its founding in 1992 by Joan Hunt, the Cudeca Foundation has cared for more than 23,000 patients and 31,500 family members. Its programmes include home care, a day unit, hospitalisation and specialist teams in psychosocial support, paediatrics and physiotherapy. In 2025 alone, it provided care to 1,939 people and comprehensive support to nearly 2,400 family members.

Cudeca’s commitment is to guarantee dignity and quality of life until the very end. To continue caring, it needs the collaboration of members, donors, volunteers and charity tournaments like the Cudeca Cup.

Because although it may not be possible to add more days to life, it is possible to add more life to days.
