One hundred guests joined Riversa chairman Julián Lara for a day of special celebrations to mark the pacesetting company’s 40th anniversary. Representing companies from throughout Spain that have had commercial agreements with Riversa over the years, as well as other major associates and suppliers, they arrived in the morning to take part in an inaugural welcome by Lara, who recalled the company’s origins as an installer of irrigation systems, its agreement with leading US brand Toro, for the exclusive distribution of its products in Spain (and later Portugal), and its close relationship with the growth of the golfing industry in Spain.

“From the 16 courses in the whole of Spain in 1976,” said Lara, “there are now more than 300, and there is not a single one that doesn’t have at least one of our products.” He also made special mention of his most veteran staff, some of whom had been with the company for more than 30 years.

After his speech, Sandro Lara – manager of the garden equipment department – outlined Riversa’s plans for the next few years, highlighting such factors as “attention to clients, mutual confidence, innovation and post-sales service”.

Francisco García, Marbella Town Hall’s councillor for parks and gardens, praised Riversa for its job creation, while other speakers stressed how much they appreciated the company’s commitment and mutual efforts.

Later, those attending were given a tour of the premises, and an extensive presentation of Riversa’s products and their main features, and the celebrations concluded that night with a cocktail party at the Beach Guadalmina hotel for guests and employees.
