China’s Shanshan Feng clearly likes her annual sojourn in Dubai. She won her first Dubai Ladies Masters in 2012, and followed that with two more victories in 2014 and 2015. Now she has made it an impressive four titles in five years, coming from five strokes back to win the final event of the 2016 Ladies European Tour.

The world number four ranked player won with a tournament record 21-under-par for 72 holes in 2015, but this year’s event was cut to 54 holes in honour of caddie Maximilian Zechmann, who collapsed and died early in the first round. Her 10-under-par total ensured a two-stroke victory over England’s Charley Hull.

It was Feng’s seventh LET victory and her fourth title of the season, following the Buick Championship, Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia and TOTO Japan Classic, as well as Olympic bronze at Rio 2016.

India’s Aditi Ashok ended in a tie for third place with England’s Florentyna Parker on six-under-par and thus sealed Rookie of the Year honours.
