The Estepona Golf course on the Costa del Sol hosted a successful leg of the SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE-Destination Dominican Republic by Globalia Circuit.

The course was presented in excellent condition following a renovation of the irrigation system on the back nine and the construction of new buggy paths. This refurbishment will be completed shortly on the front nine, which will result in substantial overall improvements to the course. Tournament participants enjoyed the premiere of a new fleet of perfectly equipped buggies. The tournament itself took place in splendid sunshine, with magnificent temperatures and a slight wind.

The players enjoyed San Miguel beers and Solán de Cabras water, both during the prize-giving lunch and out on the course, on the 3rd, 8th and 12th holes.

The prize-giving ceremony was attended by Ramón Pons, general manager of Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús, one of the Circuit’s sponsors.

The 14th edition of this popular open amateur circuit organised by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine, will cover all of the Andalucian provinces, as well as Madrid and Mallorca, with most of the legs being played on the Costa del Sol at top-level courses.

The circuit’s grand finale, which will decide the five winners of trips to the Dominican Caribbean, will be played on 28 September at Los Arqueros and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner in each tournament leg, while the remaining places will be awarded according to a ranking based on points obtained in each event.

The next leg of the Circuit is on Wednesday 22 May at Atalaya Golf & Country Club.
