More than just a golf course
By Antonio Sánchez
At the end of September, with the Grand Final held at San Roque Golf & Resort and a gala dinner for all the finalists and companions at the Hotel Occidental Puerto Banús, the XV edition of the San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge by Globalia, Costa del Sol[cite: 42] ended. The next edition in 2026 will begin in the first months of that year, and will again be played in twenty-five of the best courses in Andalusia, to which two more rounds in Madrid and Mallorca will be added[cite: 43].
More than 2,300 players of 25 nationalities have participated this year in this circuit that has become a classic awaited by golf enthusiasts from all over Spain and the rest of Europe [cite: 44, 46]. It is not just about golf, it is something more: it is a sporting, social and cultural ritual that runs through the Andalusian provinces, brings together passionate amateurs, activates local economies and offers courses that are authentic jewels [cite: 46].
From Finca Cortesin to San Roque, from La Cañada to Valderrama, through Las Brisas, RC Sevilla Golf, Novo Sancti Petri, etc., this circuit makes us feel golf is-also-part of ours [cite: 47]. The San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge by Globalia, Costa del Sol not only offers moments of play but also of conviviality: the award ceremonies, the cocktails, the meetings in the evening after a round of golf, the atmosphere of respect for the courses and camaraderie among the players [cite: 48].
