Since the Ona Hotels chain has taken over management of the resort, this resort is undergoing significant investment aimed at improving leisure facilities and the vacation experience for guests.
The resort’s director, Javier González Valdearcos, who has extensive experience in hotel management in Spain, France and the Caribbean (Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico), explains what the renovations consist of. “The resort is divided into three sections: north, center and south. In the central part there was a reception area, a swimming pool, paddle tennis courts and a small bar, but this area was undersized for the operation of the resort and to get the feeling that you’re in a tourist resort, not an apartment block.”
For this reason, the director explains, the central area has been developed, which would be “the heart of the life of the resort”.
The new reception area, much larger than the original, will have spectacular views of the golf course, and from this space there will be access to a restaurant and lobby bar. There will also be a pool bar, which will serve a terrace and the pool itself, with its loungers and sun loungers. And this new central area will also have a solarium a little away from the pool.
Flanking the resort on its eastern side, there is a road that runs through the resort from north to south, where restaurants, two children’s clubs, two gyms and a spa with a thermal circuit, hamman, sauna and massage services are located. “So we will have two leisure areas: the central one with the swimming pool and this other one that could be called the boulevard to walk around and enjoy the aforementioned facilities.”
In addition to the one in the central area, Ona Valle Romano has two other swimming pools, located at the north and south ends of the resort.
