The promoter Taylor Wimpey has delivered to Caritas the amount of 5,000 € from the proceeds of the Golf Tournament and Solidarity Lunch held on Saturday at Los Arqueros Golf, an amount that will go to alleviate the deficiencies of the most disadvantaged families in the area in these dates prior to Christmas. The regional director of Taylor Wimpey, Ignacio Oslé, made the symbolic delivery of the check with that amount to the president of Caritas Virgen del Rocio, Mercedes Agüera.
This event was organized on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the creation of Los Arqueros Golf and therefore, the beginning of activity on the Costa del Sol of the British company Taylor Wimpey Spain, a subsidiary of the international real estate developer Taylor Wimpey PLC, based in the United Kingdom.
More than 200 people attended this celebration, including Benahavis Town Councilors Ake Olofsson and María de los Ángeles Mena, among other authorities, homeowners, golf players of the area and the large family of suppliers and workers of the developer.
The President of Los Arqueros Golf and General Manager Taylor Wimpey, Javier Ballester, highlighted at the event “the incredible work of the workers during all these years that with their dedication have been able to raise day by day the quality of the course that has made it distinguished every year as one of the 10 preferred commercial golf courses in the area.”
Los Arqueros Golf is a magnificent 18-hole golf course located in Benahavis, near La Quinta and La Zagaleta, designed by Severiano Ballesteros, which for its demanding course, natural beauty and quality of its holes, has become a reference on the Costa del Sol. The golf offer is complemented by a restaurant and cafeteria open every day of the year, Club House, sports store, gym, tennis courts, paddle tennis and squash. The director of Los Arqueros, Ulf Svendsen, explained that this course is a hallmark on the Costa del Sol for its 25 years of operation but also because it is very active and constantly organizes sporting and social events.
Currently Los Arqueros is one of the main tourist resorts on the Costa del Sol where a community of varied nationalities coexist where British, Scandinavians, Belgians and Spaniards stand out.
