It was described as a once-in-a-lifetime shot – and it certainly was for at least one of the unfortunate protagonists. When Ryan Gray teed off on the 18th at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, his ball struck a duck, which plummeted to the ground as the amateur golfer looked on disbelievingly. (This is 2017 so the incident was captured on film and subsequently uploaded to social media.)
One onlooker can be heard on the video saying, “Oh my God… did that just happen?”; and another, “Are you kidding me?” The person behind the camera then rushes to the water and observes a dead-looking duck sinking next to a trail of blood.
Ryan’s friend Todd Shannon shared the video on Instagram, noting, «For those who think this was intentional or fake, take off your foil hat and go make some friends.»
