The superb South Course at Royal Guadalmina Golf Club hosted the latest Andalucía Golf Challenge tournament. This is the seventh annual edition of the popular open amateur circuit, which is held at the Costa del Sol’s finest courses and this year coincides with Andalucía Golf/España Golf’s 30th anniversary as Spain’s longest-running bilingual golf magazine.

Around 120 players teed up at Guadalmina, representing numerous different nationalities and enjoying excellent conditions at the Marbella course, designed by renowned architect Javier Arana.

The prize-giving and cocktail reception was held on the club’s upper terrace, presided over by Andalucía Golf/España Golf publisher Antonio Sánchez, Royal Guadalmina general manager Ignacio del Cuvillo and Fairway+Blue director Gabriela Johne.

The first category winner was Christian Reynders (39 points), followed by Luis Mansilla (37) and Pablo Marques (36).

The second category was won by Yamelichau Aliaksandr (40) with David Morales second (38) and María Eugenia Urra (third (38).

In category three, Jan Policki led the way (40), Patricia Jiménez was second (38) and José Antonio Arocha was third (37).

The scratch winner was Christian Reynders, who won the magnificent prize of a painting by leading artist Alejandro Hermann.

The prize for closest ball to the pin went to Patricia Thiele, and for longest drives (male and female), María José Hidalgo and Francisco Cuevas.

In addition to a wonderful competition setting, the tournament was also highlighted by top-quality prizes, including leading-brand apparel, TomTom GPS watches and D.O. Somontano wines. All those taking part also received a gift of a bottle of Rueda de Hacienda Montecorto verdejo white wine from Bodegas Domecq.
