If carding one hole-in-one is extremely difficult – something perhaps only achieved once in a lifetime – making three in 30 years is almost a miracle. This is what Margaret, an Irishwoman who has lived in Fuengirola for 30 years – pulled off.

Since leaving Dublin, together with her husband Tony Robinson, three decades ago, to make the Costa del Sol their main base, golf has become their main occupation and the Cerrado del Águila club their second home. They spend most of the day at this course – “the one we like most on the Costa del Sol”. Tony won the first competition held at Cerrado del Águila, in 2007.

Margaret, who plays off a 12 handicap, secured her first ace at this same club in 2012. It was on the second hole, 120 metres, using an 11-wood.

Her second hole-in-one was in 2013 at Cala Nova, on the seventh hole, 123 metres, using the same club.

In April last year she achieved her third hole-in-one at La Cala’s South Course, on the seventh hole, this time with an 8-iron.

On the last two occasions, she achieved her feat in official competitions. The Irish golfer is living proof that good luck comes to those who seek it.
