Victoria Eugenia Martínez Bernal and Jacobo Cestino Castilla have won the Championship of Seville, a scoring event for the Absolute and Junior Rankings of Andalusia, which was held over two days at the Real Club Pineda de Sevilla.
The player from Vista Hermosa, Victoria Eugenia Martínez Bernal, thus revalidates the title she won last year. Starting with the Gentlemen’s category, Jacobo Cestino has signed today the best round of the day, 69 strokes that -together with the 74 he shot yesterday- have earned him the first place with a total of 143 (-1).
The player from Malaga was one stroke ahead of Gonzalo Rico-Avello and the player from Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, Pablo Rodríguez-Tabernero, who finished equal with a total of 144 strokes (par).
As for the female classification, Victoria Eugenia Martínez Bernal, concluded yesterday the first day in second position, with 74 strokes, and only one stroke behind Lucila Puente from Seville, who was leading the classification. During this second round, the player from Cadiz has delivered a card of 70 strokes (-2) for a cumulative 144 (par), which have earned him his second consecutive title in this Championship of Seville.
Lucila Puente finished in second position with rounds of 73 and 75 strokes, for a total of 148 (par). Finally, with regard to the handicap prizes, the first classified were Gonzalo Rico-Avello (1st men’s category), Zak Karkaletsou (2nd men’s category) and Lucila Puente (Ladies’ category).
The awards ceremony was attended by José Antonio García de Tejada, President of the Real Club Pineda de Sevilla; Santiago Urquijo, Golf Member of the Real Club Pineda de Sevilla; and Candelaria Flores, Delegate of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation in Seville.
