The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina has been proclaimed winner of the International Men’s Interclubs Championship of Andalusia 2014 in a competition that took place during two days in the new course of The San Roque Club. Last year’s runner-up team at Guadalhorce Golf Club, led the event from the first round, played under the Fourball modality, thanks to the 68 strokes (-4) of the couple composed by Casto Gómez and Antonio Cruz-Condez. Casto Gómez and Antonio Cruz-Condeand the 71 strokes (1 under par) of the duo of Haiko Dana–Ángel Hidalgo.
On the second and final day, after a temporary suspension of play due to inclement weather, the Malaga foursome cemented a new title in the individual rounds of Casto Gómez (+2) and Ángel Hidalgo (+4).
Thus, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, with a total of 369 accumulated strokes, adds his second victory in the last three editions held.
Likewise, this team will be subsidized by the Men’s Technical Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation to participate in the Spanish Interclub Men’s Championship, which will be played from September 25 to 28 at the Real Nuevo Club de Golf de San Sebastián Basozábal (San Sebastián) .
Second place, five strokes behind the winners, went to the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla team made up of Juan Carlos Torrente, Pablo Heredia, Gonzalo Leal and Ignacio Puente. In addition to the runner-up position, this team won the 1st Category Handicap with a total of 357 net strokes.
In 2nd Scratch Category, the first place went to another foursome from the Real Club de Guadalmina: Christiaan Reynders, Francisco Castaño, Luis Mansilla and Marc Mueller were at the top of the classification from the first day, and in the final round, they certified their victory with a record of 413 strokes.
Regarding the 3rd Scratch Category, the quartet from Almeria La Envia Golf formed by Jose Manuel Rodriguez, Ernesto Javier Navarro, Antonio Perez and Antonio Oña finished at the top of the table with a cumulative score of 496 strokes.
In 2nd Category Handicap, Real Club de Golf Guadalmina rounded off its great role in this competition with the victory of the team composed of Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez, Alfonso Gardeazábal, Anthony Fernades and Pedro Ángel Alonso.
Finally, in the 3rd Handicap Category, the foursome from Cordoba of the Pozoblanco Golf Club formed by Guzmán Fernández, Domingo Serrano, Ramón Gallego and Antonio Cabrera was the winner.
At the end of the day’s play, the awards ceremony began with the presence, among others, of Luis Mansilla, President of the Men’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, Guillermo Navarro, Director of The San Roque Club, and Gonzalo Goy, Assistant Director of the San Roque club.
